Why do the daughters of immigrants — born and raised in Europe — still hit walls in the job market? This early piece looks at how gender and immigrant background combine to shape employment prospects in the EU.

Second-generation immigrants in the European Union—born and raised in Europe—continue to face obstacles in the job market, and those obstacles differ by gender. In this article, published in the Harvard Kennedy School's Women's Policy Journal, I examine how gender and immigrant background combine to shape employment prospects—an early look at a question that runs through my work: how gender and minority identity jointly structure social and political experience.
